Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Illinois

will entitlements

Mother died...Several items in will going to the two sons...Husband (not father of sons)refusing to release the items...Is husband entitled two one-third of the items, or cash value, in the will? Could husband sell the items listed in the will without permission of the two sons? What should sons do to claim items since the husband is not voluntarily turning the items over? Are the sons responsible for any funeral expenses?

Re: will entitlements

Hello. Your mother's will should be

filed with the County Clerk in Illinois and then an estate should be opened for her here in Illinois. This

will put a hold on what your step dad

is attempting to do. Get the court involved as soon as possible. Will be happy to discuss this further and

in more detail.
