Wills in Illinois

Can a lawyer prepare a will in Illinois and also be named as a beneficary and the executor of that will?

Tricky question. For executor, probably yes, although disclosure of conflicts would be appropriate. For beneficiary, the answer would be no, unless it is a family member whom the lawyer would receive from anyway. But generally speaking, it is inappropriate for a lawyer to draw up a Will for client and name himself or herself as a beneficiary.
