Legal Question in Workers Comp in Illinois

fell at work

I fell on some water on floor. I am working light duty right now. I had a cut on my forearm that left a scare and i was wondering if I could get a settlement out of it ? please let me know.

If you have filed a worker's compensation claim, your scar will be included in the package settlement. You are entitled to your wage loss, payment of all your medical bills, any disfigurement and/or temporary disability.

You would be best off to get the help of an attorney. The insurance adjuster that you will have to deal with--if you do not have an attorney--is trained and has a lot of experience convincing people without an attorney to settle their case for a fraction of what their case is worth. The same adjuster will have a completely different attitude when faced with someone who knows how to play the game.
