Legal Question in Banking Law in India

Hi,

I have HDFC Credit Card, I also have Salary account from the same bank. Due to non Payment my account was leined first time for 6k, later I had settlement with them in End of April, Same month I paid anohter 45k, following month I could not pay them anything as I was held up with another Credit Card. June month I paid them 10k, July my salary went on lein again and they held 37k, August month that is today, my account was held again and they held another 37k. Intial settlement was for 103k. Do you think I can approach bank omubudsman since my account has been on lein for more than what was settled for. Though I missed my payment by a month, I have paid more than what was agreed. I have been going through serious agony becuase of this. After reading all these scary stories, I am literally scared to go for any further financial obligations. I had been into debt trap and approached debt consolidation but even they talk about money first then talk everything else. I am really concerned as I still have another 1.2lakhs of credit. Which I am hoping to clear it off this month. Please suggest if I can get back my remaining money if I go to Bank Ombudsman.

yes, you can make a complaint to banking ombudsman and seek appropriate relief, if the Bank does not act reasonably.

at this time, this is your best bet. If not resolved, you may file a complaint before the consumer court in your area
