Re: How to find out if an image is copyright on a website?

If a image is accompanied by a note that that image is subject to the limitation of copyright, then it would not be appropiate to use it without the consent of the holder. However in cases of images of Specific Persons, particularly out of public domain, (like not being public figures), or depiciting some vulgar or activity not expressly allowed by law, then appropiate action can be brough against the user of the image.

If you can be specific maybe I can advice you better.

Re: How to find out if an image is copyright on a website?

The images that are copyrighted have claims made by the proprietor of the website regarding the intellectual property rights. All rights with regard to imagery, visuals, look and feel concept etc. are claimed and reserved by the website. Watch out for such claims. Sometimes, there is also an circle 'C'with the year indicated against the image to indicate that the image is proteced under copyright laws.
