persons contesting for election convicted of offence

if a person who is convicted of offence under Indian penal code and anti corruption act files a nomination for election,will he be granted nomination?if no,what is the remedy available?

If appeal against the conviction is pending and there is a stay granted by the High Court then the person can contest election.
