Legal Question in Consumer Law in India

I was working in Dubai UAE from Jan 2010 till Oct 2012.

I had to quit my job, due to heavy work pressure.

Since I did not find any other job in UAE after quitting, I came back with my family to India. Now looking for a job to support my family.

During my work in UAE, I had taken a personal Loan of Aed. 2,30,000/- from Emirates NDB bank in Dubai. Current outstanding is 2lac Dirhams.

Would like to know what are my legal standing in India, as im unable to the EMI now. Can they file a case in India against me, as I had issued them security Cheque for the same amount.

They can do lot of things against you to recover their loan amount... I feel you need to engage a lawyer and discuss the pro and cons of your matter with him. ............Please check Sanjay Kalra and Associates on the internet to know more about our law firm and the legal services we are rendering for our clients from all over the World.

Legally, yes they can. But practically they can't.

They can file a suit in their own country, and then seek for execution of Decree in India, but it will be extremely time and cost intensive, so they are not likely to do it.
