my friend was charged under sectin 420.406 and 120b ipc on 26.06.2008 and he was arrested on 20.01.2009 what are the grounds for getting bail

Depends on the nature of allegations in the case.

Generally, bail in such cases is granted if court is satisfied that the accused will be available for trial, he will not tamper with evidence and hamper with trial.

You may need to prima facie establish his innocence or that the offences are not made out from allegations levelled in the FIR.

that would depend upon the allegations in the FIR and the role attributed to your friend. what was the entrustment and whether or not entrustment has been replaced to its true owner.
