Legal Question in Criminal Law in India

Condoning cruelty if rejoined to live again

My wife attempted a fake suicide attempt. There was no complaint at that time. After a week, she quietly rejoined me to live till I developed a brain tumour within 9 months of marriage. She later filed a case under 498A. Is there a judgement to the effect that rejoing the husband to live happily condones the alleged cruelty driving her to commit suicide?

At the stage of institution of complaint or inquiry and investigation thereof, only prima facie offence is to be seen.

This fact may help you during trial.

The previous acts of cruelty may be condoned by rejoining but if she suffers again, all previous acts may be added despite her having rejoined.
