Legal Question in Discrimination Law in India

Is sex before marriage legal in India,If yes what are the ages after which sex is legal,and Does local traveling with a girl or sitting with a girl(without obscenity) objectionable by law????....Because there was an incident where a friend of mine was just sitting with a girl,but was conned for money by the Police with false charges.....

Sex after 16 with the consent of partner is not illegal. Sitting with girl is not objectionable.Police does that so extract money and that is itself illegal.
