Re: Harasement

You can completely avoid registeration of 498-A case against yourself and your family members if

(a) you write a proper letter inviting your wife to join you home;

(b) tell her that you are willing to return any jewelllary or money she has received in marriage; or any household goods received from her parents;

(c) offer her adequate alimony support if she wants to live separate from you for some time

(d) meanwhile, make an inventory of everything belonging to her and provide a list to the local police;

(e) you may also file a civil case in local court offering return of her belongings.

The police may refuse to register 498-A case if you handle the matter carefully. However, it is strongly advised that you settle the dispute amicably by love and affection and through mediation of common friends and relatives.
