Legal Question in Family Law in India
My husband had filed a petition under Section 12. But whatever he had mentioned in that are all false. We had stayed together only for 20 days. We had no physical relationship. I am a working women. So can i claim alimony if his petition is not granted ?

See, sec 12 is for annulment of marriage and the effect of annulment is that if he gets the decree in his favour it would mean that the marriage never occurred b/w u and him. Hence, upon annulment you are not entitled to get any maintenance since you loose the status of being a wife.Secondly, if you take the stand that you did not have physical relationship you will certainly loose the case.
