maintainence

if resigns due to my mental stress or inability ,my job in conditions,what is my maximum liabilty or punishement and how long it is ?for not giving maintainence to my estranged and happy living dependent wife ,under crpc 125?

U cant ignore maintanance and if you will do it then your property will be attached or your salary etc but you have to pay the same.

There is only one solution that you can file an appliaction show your inability before court on the ground of your health etc. but it will not help you much. But you can try and it may decrease your maintance amount.

Inform the court about your loss of job and inability to pay and the court will act favourably without punishing you.

You will be behind bars for one month for not giving maintenance to your wife and it will continue as long as you does pay the maintenance to your wife. You can inform to court that you have loss your job and you are not getting any payment.
