Is a foreign divorce accepted in India? Can I remarry in india after my divorce is approved outside of india, say Guam?

What are the documents that need to be filed? I plan to have a hindu wedding. Thanks

Yes, You can, subject to the compliance of certain formalities required to bring into effect foreign judgments. However, before the same, kindly get the orders perused by a Legal Counsel, so that more conclusive opinion can be arrived at.

Yes, a foreign divorce decree is enforceable in India by making an application to that effect in the Indian Court.The petition for divorce and the divorce decree will be required.

You may also remarry in India, as per prevalent custome and having same registered with the marriage officer.
