Legal Question in Family Law in India

I am married since last 3.5 years. My wife started behaving absurdly since day 1. Later it was found that she is mentally ill. Treatment was started immediately and later discontinued due to non cooperation. Now as her behavious has become intolerable, we are treating her without her knowledge by putting medicine in the food since about 10 months now. She is still abnormal and behaves very badly.

Pleas advise, if I can get a divorce under this circumstances, how soon and What are the possibilities of me taking custody of our only 2.5 yrs old male child.

I have preserved some medical bills and all prescriptions of 2 different psychaitrists. One Pyschaitrist is no more and the other has not seen this patient.

Unsoundness of mind is a ground for divorce. You can put before the court, the medical bills and the reports. Depending upon the intensity / gravity of the mental ill health, the custody of the child could also be sought stating that the mother is incapable of taking care of the child.
