Legal Question in Family Law in India

Reneging from Mutual consent process

If A husband and wife file for mutual consent divorce, can the wife renege from it before the court order. I believe the court allows for 18 months period once the petition is filed. In case the wife reneges and decides that she does not want mutual consent divorce, can I file a unilateral divorce petition before the period of 18 months since filing of petition has expired?

Yes wife can withdraw her consent before the decree is passed.

In that case, you can file an independent divorce petition.
