You can file a case under DVA act and live in the same house.

Further move an application to the women cell of your city, they will make understand your husband else will file a case of cruelty against your husband.

as you have mentioned that he doesnt utter a word but damages your belongings. does he hit you. its better if you communicate with him and try to understand his psyche for the sake of your son. the courts would ultimately grant you divorce only and in case you can improve your relationship with husband, nothing like it.

You may seek an order restraining him from causing you any damage to your person and/or property while living together. Alternatively, you may consider living "separate" even in the same house and claim your rights of "shared residence" under D.V.A.
