Legal Question in Civil Litigation in India

What is the procedure for filing a defamation case against a woman who has been maligning my reputation in the building. She has publicly abused me, called me names and threatened to have me thrown out of the building. There were atleast 3 residents present on the last occasion, but I am not sure if they will be willing to get embroiled in a legal case.
I cannot afford a lawyer, but I am willing to fight it out on my own. Where do I begin?

You can give a police complaint. Wait for the investigation and then decide. Police will take action against your complaint.
