Legal Question in Immigration Law in India

Passport application form while divorce case in progress

A woman I know has filed for divorce. She wants to apply for a passport. What should she write under name of spouse and what address should she give? She has been back with her parents for 1 yr. The form says if you haven't stayed for 2 yrs continuosly at a place, give other address. If in-lws find out, divorce would be problem. Pl. advise

In the passport application, she should truthfully give both addresses.

I am sure you are not contemplating an ex-parte divorce. In any case it is immaterail whether in-laws find out about the divorce. A divorce can either be contested or by mutual consent to ve effective and binding. In both such cases, the knowledge of in laws in not of any consequence.
