You can change your name by applying to the local ie the concerened local magistrate of your area by filing an affidavit for the same along with all the required documents ie. birthcertificate, 10th marksheet etc. Then you need to give a declaration in the local newspepers for the change in your name. The whole process will consume about 15 days.

There is a method for change of name 1)Advertise in one or two newspapers 2)fill change of name form and get your name change in official gazette by making an affidavit.

you should first insert the change of name by way of advertisements in local newspapers; and then apply to the concerned authorities for name change on their prescribed proforma or by a simple application.
