Advice on Agricultural land purchase

We are a group of like minded friends in Maharashtra, India and willing to purchase some agricultural land for developing farm house and venture in agricultural and farm products,

Can we buy agricultural land in a group? Is it possible if we do not have any agricultural background?What is the best method to go ahead on this leagaly.

Yes you can buy agricultural land. Ask for all papers pertaining to the land and consult a good property lawyer to verify the revenue records of the land to check that the land can be marketable or not and then invest.

Buying of any immovable property, including agricultural land, jointly is permissible.

However, according to local laws of the State of Maharashtra, only agriculturist can buy agricultural land.

There are some exceptions in that law itself as also there are some practical ways. However, you need to discuss the same with your lawyer and opt for one of the ways which best suited to your needs.

Yes,you people can purchase the agricultural land,as such there is no prohibition.
