Regarding Grand Mothers Property

My mother having 2 brothers and one sister.They had a land in the name of my grandmother (late) and it was maintained by my Elder uncle for more than 30 years now my uncle tells us that they have registered the land in their names and they are telling that my mother and her sister dont have any rights to claim their proportion.The land was in karnataka.Please suggest is it true i cant claim anything from my brother or i can claim if so please suggest how to proceed with.

Details are missing.However,being one of the legal heir you can claim your share in the property and also rendition of account and also share in the income earned by your brother.

Your mother, her sister and two brothers all have one fourth share each in the land. Since your uncle have been managing the land they are also liable to render the accounts.

unlike men -the property in the name of any women is her absolute property!

after the death of the women (without a will) -the property devolves upon all the legal heirs husband, son, daughter equally!

so your mother has a share in the property - demand and claim

consult a lawyer for the procedures.
