Legal Question in Real Estate Law in India

We have original sale deed of land, is located in Madurai District, which is registered on 28th feb 1914(100 yrs old).

The land registered by my great grand father. Grandfather and great grand father passed away. Now only we came to know this deed.

Sale deed does n't have Survey Number, Deed contains only four boundaries. We unable to locate the land. We got EC from 1914 to 1986. It got from Registrar office. We asked the survey number, but they said, don't know about the survey number. I dont know how they given EC up to 1986.

for EC up to date (1986 to till date) they are asking the survey number.

Is it possible to get Old Survey number using the Registered Date, Village name, Owner's(Great Grand father name)?

Dear Sir / Madam,

Please clarify what do you mean by EC. The District Collector's Office in Madurai will have the full land record detail including the Survey No. in the Property Card even though the property is 98 years old.

You may apply to the District Collector's Office for the same.
