Legal Question in Real Estate Law in India

I have a question on land acquired in inheritance. My grandmother left my mother a land in her will. But the property tax payment for the land is being made in my grandmother's name(who died in 2010) by my maternal uncle. Will this give my maternal uncle any considerable right(like ownership rights) on the said property?

Please reply soon.

Mere payment of taxes do not give any right.

However, if Will is not acted upon (as appears in your case), then it will create doubt. Have name of your mother entered in property record at the earliest.

Need to see the contents of will. Is it registered or unregistered? All property conveyance should be made by registered will. If registered will then it is ok and your uncle cannot claim anything or else you need to get a ratification process from the remaining legal heirs to prove the will is an authentic one.
