Hello Sir,

I am an NRI in USA. Can I buy a property in Pune, Maharashtra from USA by giving POA to my father/husband? Is my presence necessary for registration?.

Thanks,

Bhavana

Yes, you can.

Such power of attorney should bear signatures, thumb impressions and photographs of you and person in whose favour of power and such power of attorney is attested by an authorised officer of Indian Consulate.

Please ensure proper draft of Power of Attorney with all powers not only for execution and registration of agreement, but also powers concerning further matters vis-a-vis said agreement and the property agreed to purchased thereunder.
