Legal Question in Real Estate Law in India

society charging heavily

i had rented out my flat to one of the commercial suites and they filed a case against society for harrassing its customers. My tenants have now vacated and withdrawn the case. society is now charging me heavily around 25,000 Rs for all those legal and other expenses. Is this justified? I have new tenant moving in and dont want him to get troubled by society members. Please guide if i should go ahead and pay this amount or treat it as disputed amount

Re: society charging heavily

If somebody file a legal proceedings against other and withdraw the same without getting any orders, the other party to litigation is bound to claim for the expenses incurred on account of the legal proceedings.

Consider having a clear cut writing having cleared/settled everything till date.
