Legal Question in Real Estate Law in India

Transfer of Flat to nominee

Hi,

I am the sole nominee on share certificate of a Flat in Mumbai owned by my grand parents.

Both my grand parents are dead.

My grandparents has one son and two daughters.

I would like to know if i would face any legal objection from any one of the heirs relating to transfer of the flat in my name and selling it in near future.

Thanks

Jaidev

Yes Jaidev, your father's sister may have an equal share in the property and they may object to the transfer in your name.

Re: Transfer of Flat to nominee

Nominee is generally regarded as a trustee of legal heirs. Please check the local law of societies in this behalf.
