a will registered in 2009.the area came under greater chennai corporation limits in 2011. is it compulsory to probate the will?

in case there is a dispute qua the will, probate needs to be filed.

Chennai being presidency town, probate may be compulsory.
However, check with local lawyer for areas covered for that purpose. Generally, area to which Original Jurisdiction of High Court extend will be the area for which probate is compulsory.
