ancestral property vs self-acquired property

I would like to know what is ancestral property and self-acquired property. And some important rules in possessing ancestral property.

ancestral property is the property which you get from your ancestors eg your father, grand father etc whereas self acquired property is acquired by you from your income/gains. Ancestral property cannot be dispose of by will but self acquired can be.
