Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in India
Wills
My maternal grandfather purchased a property in Chennai. He dies in 1982.My grandmother also died in 2006.They are survived by 2 sons and 2 daughters and two children of pre deceased daughter. My granmother jointly with my grandmother has reportedly left a Will (not probated) to the effect that the sons will only be the beneficiaries. My uncle did not mention about the Will till now.Do the daughters and the children of the predeceased daughter get something? How do we contest the Will?

Re: Wills
If it was self acquired property of your grandfather it will go as per will so you can challenge the will if possible but if it was ancestral property Will will have no effect. Then property will be equally divided between 2 sons and 3daughters (including the predeceased daughter'share which will be divided among her children).
Re: Wills
If the property was ancestral property then the share will be divided equally and if the property was self acquired then you can take a chance to challenge the WILL.
