Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Indiana

ex-husband broke divorce decree by not refinancing home

I got a divorce 4 years ago. In the divorce decree it stated that my ex-husband was to refinance our home. He did not and he stopped paying the mortgage payments. Eventually he filed bankruptcy without telling me and in turn the mortgage company wanted the money from me for the home. I had to file bankruptcy myself ruining my credit. Do I have any legal recourse against him for not following through with the decree?

There are too many facts that were left out of your question. Did your ex list you in the bankruptcy? Is his BK still open? What did your decree say about the money he owed-was it to be a lien against the property?

It is possible that you may not have recourse if some deadlines have passed. I recommend that you get counsel asap
