Yes, you many have such a claim. Depends on a few things. Employers have what the law calls a "privilege" in terms of communicating information about an employee to other employees. They must show the communication was one in which they were privileged. Ordinarily, those kinds of communications are only made on a "need to know" basis and typically, only to supervisory persons.

But, even if there is a privilege, truth must be told, not a lie, especially where the information transmitted implies a criminal act (assuming by "drugs" you meant illegal drugs). Then, it becomes a "per se" violation of your rights to not be defamed.
