Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Indiana

I am defendant in a small claims court case of which I admittedly owe the debt. However the plaintiff ( a Homeowner's Association) wasn't present and requested a continuance. I previously inquired about paying to avoid going to court, but would have had to be court costs and other fees. Since the case is continued, can I pay the original amount owed between now and the date of the continuance?

They can settle the account with you out of court and it is up to them if they want to waive the fees at this point. Had you paid the amount before the case was filed and they incurred the additional fees I'm sure you could have paid what you actually owed. Typically once a case is filed they will not settle for less unless you pay the court fees since they had to incur the amount to file the case.
