Legal Question in Criminal Law in Indiana

Child Porn

I am an 18 year old college student also female. I am being accused of passing out a semi naked picture (pubic region is cover and breasts are being cover up by an arm) of a 17 year old girl. She says she has a witness, this is completely ridicules but should I get a lawyer to handle this or just go and tell the truth and that I didn't have any thing to do with it?

Re: Child Porn

You certainly need to speak to an attorney. Do NOT make any statements to police or anyone, until you have spoken with a lawyer. This is a serious allegation and carries serious consequences.

Re: Child Porn

You ABSOLUTELY must get an attorney. Law enforcement takes these charges extremely seriously. Federal charges of child pornography frequently carry mandatory minimum prison sentences. You might have to register as a sex offender because of the charge (if convicted).

DO NOT take this lightly. DO NOT speak to anyone about this except a qualified criminal defense lawyer.

I know it seems ridiculous under the circumstances as you view them. Please believe me when I tell you that you should NOT underestimate the seriousness of the position you are in.
