Legal Question in Criminal Law in Indiana

my son is 16 and his girlfriend is 21 and she is pregnant with his twins. they have been dating for 2 years, it started when she was 19 and he was 14. I even had the police confront her and they continued to sneak, said they are in love they can not help it. she promised me that she would not go off of the pill , he is a jr. in high school and has plans for collage. and that is my main cons-earn. now she is only 14 weeks pregnant, and she is tired of my son, what I want to know is what about this is illegal? even though he is 16 now, I want to know if there is anything I can have written up to protect our rights (my son and i) against a, her taking off with his kids like its non of our business. and b..me having to pay her child support for 2 years when she stopped going to the clinic and more less got pregnant on purpose, or can i even c, have her prosecuted and take the baby's from her?

first, forget the idea of having her prosecuted - it won't and shouldn't happen. you cannot change the past but you can have a positive effect on the future of all involved (the babies, your son, the girl, you, her parents etc..) you should hire a reputable lawyer in your area to have paternity established when the babies are born. this will establish custody, visitation and support. most juvenile judges are fair and conscious of these situations - it is not a new story. in the meantime, it is important for all concerned to be cooperative, friendly and recognize the twins as a blessing. your son's future plans do not have to change but if the plans change perhaps it was meant to be for a reason. obviously i do not know the dynamics but perhaps you, the girl, your son and her mom communicate in a positive way. do not resort to acrimony or accusations. they were both willing participants and you condoned it. good luck and remember that the goal is to create a solid foundation for all - the all is just bigger by 2!
