Legal Question in Family Law in Indiana

Getting Money From Out of State Dad

Indiana court has ordered child's father to pay portion of child's college tuition. Father lives in Ohio. Father stopped paying. Took father back to court 2X was a no show each time. Current lawyer says that we have to hire an attorney from Ohio to pursue further. Is this true or is the current lawyer tired of this case? Why can't the court issue a bench warrant for failure to appear? What is the best way to get this case resolved?

Re: Getting Money From Out of State Dad

Unless you can entice the father back into Indiana after a bench warrant is issued, the ONLY way to resolve this situation is to hire an attorney in the state where he presently resides to enforce the Indiana order.
