Legal Question in Family Law in Indiana

Remaining on mortgage after divorce is final

I am getting divorced. I put a large sum of money down on the property that we purchased together. Our divorce settlement requires him to pay me back. If he doesnt and something happens to him we have provided a non revokable life insurance policy to pay off the lein and mortgage of the home. My name will remain on the mortage until his debt to me is paid.

Question is, what if he remarries and something happens to him? I mhave been told by my attorney that the home will go into an estate and then I will get the life insurance money. I do not understand this.
