Legal Question in Family Law in Indiana

Visitation

My son who turned 14 this year has decided not to go visit his father this summer. Our divorce decree states only alternating christmas and thanksgivings and as agreed upon for summers. What are his (my son's) rights as far as visiting his father. I want to back him up and do what is right for him. He has told his father No. And so have I and it is causing a major issue and he is threatening to take me back to court.

Re: Visitation

Please refer to the Indiana Parenting Guidelines, availabe at the Indiana Judiciary Website. I am of the opinion that your 14 year old can not dictate whether his father has parenting time this summer. However, he may have some imput at to scheduling due to other activities.
