District manger confidentiality

Can I take legal action if the district manager of my job asked me about a relationship that was going on at work between an employee and my boss and told me that what i told her was completely confidential but went to my place of work and told everyone what i had told her? after she told everyone at my work they all treated me with no respect and were rude to me so i felt as if i were forced to quit.
