Legal Question in Intellectual Property in Indiana

for a copyright infringement, what type of lawyer do I need. I live in Indiana. Plus I really can't afford a lawyer or pay the $2,500 they want to keep it out of the news. I downloaded a copy of a movie I own for a backup. Now the movie is costing me $19.97 plus $2,500.

Optimally, you'll want to contact an intellectual property attorney who regularly practices copyright law. The first steps will be for the attorney to review the demand letter it sounds like you've received and respond in the hopes of avoiding litigation.

Ditto. What the copyright owner probably wants is not so much the $2500 as a mea culpa and recognition of their copyright.

The other attorneys are right on point. You should have a copyright lawyer review the situation and perhaps write a response. Consult with a copyright attorney in your area for specifics.
