Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in Indiana

Daughter was misdiagnosed and her appendix ruptured. It was ruptured for over a week even though she had CAT scans and blood work at the hospital, she still nearly died and will most likely have long term affects to her bowels after they sat in the poison that long.

Can we do anything about this? Could we at least negotiate the bill with the hospital responsible?
