Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Indiana

New landlord no pets policy

My one year lease expired in September. I paid October rent engaging in tenant at will rental. The landlord sold the property. Transfer of property is expected at end of October. The new owner states a No Pet Policy eventhough the previous owner allowed my pets. The new owner has since sent a letter stating either I dispose of my pets or I have 30 days to vacate said premises. Can the new owner enforce a no pets policy eventhough I have lived here for more than a year with pets? If he is forcing me to choose between pets and moving can I insist he use my deposit as last months rent?

Re: New landlord no pets policy

When your lease expired without renewal, you effectively went on a month to month lease. therefore, your new landlord only need give you thirty days notice to vacate and you must either leave or get rid of your cats. Sorry
