Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Indiana

My brother died in 2008 in Nashville, Indiana. I am one of five beneficiaries, none of whom live in Indiana. Nearly $40,000 has been paid to Indiana for the state inheritance tax, but the administrater will not release the tax form for us to see, stating confidentiality issues. Am I prevented from getting a copy of the form? How do we verify it was filled out correctly?

Contact the attorney for the estate. As an heir, you have the right to review this paperwork. Otherwise, object to the final acounting when you receive notice of it.
