Legal Question in Administrative Law in Iowa

Background Checks

As an employer do we have to have a signed seperate document to perform a background check rather than have it included on the application? Also do we need permission to do a court search, and not a background?

Re: Background Checks

I don't know whether you'd need any sort of signed agreement but it might be better to include it as part of the application package. You can get the background check from the DCI, but you cannot obtain NCIC information except in very limited occupations. ICIS is public information, and you don't need anyone's permission to look at it.
