Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Iowa

Accident

I was rear ended by an uninsured operator. He was ticketed and I won a civil case. I need to know now how I go about collecting for this civil case. Is there a lein on his license because of this awarding or is there a way I can find out where he works so that I can garnish his wages?

Re: Accident

Well, this isn't really about civil rights law but how to collect on a judgment. There is a judgment lien on any real estate he has an interest in for the next ten years. Further, you can garnish his wages. As I see it the key issue here is how to determine where the person works, and you may need to use the services of a private investigator, after you have exhausted all the usual resources that are open to you on the web...some are very good.

For instance, if this person has other judgments or has had other court involvement you can get the case numbers on ICIS for free and then go to the courthouse and see the records-which may prove useful. Second, your attorney may send a letter to his attorney inquiring about this subject. I would NOT get personally involved in this process.
