Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Iowa

I bought some books about 20 years ago. At the time I made monthly payments, then a few months later I was unable to make payments. Am I still liable to pay that off even after it has been 20 years? or is their a statute of limitations on this?

You're long past the time when anyone can sue you for the unpaid balance.
