Legal Question in Criminal Law in Iowa

My son is being charged with contemp of a no contact order. He did not contact the protected party but he did call the sister and said that their child was in the er and being admitted to the hospital because he was extremley ill. Is this a violation of the order? Also she is using it to deny visitation of the minor child. Is this going to stand up in court and my son going to jail? She is being investigated for denial of critical care of the minor child because he almost died due to lack of medical care. What can we do to protect ourselves from this woman?

The answer's pretty much the same. He'll have to convince the court that he did not contact the ex through a proxy. In violations of domestic no contact orders there is also a mandatory jail sentence. As to what you can do to protect yourself from this woman, that's up to you, but it seems that your son is the one with the legal problem.
