Legal Question in Family Law in Iowa

Preventing Visitation Rights

I have raised my daughter alone for almost 4 years. Her father has not beenvery involved, although I've given him every opportunity to be. Now he says he wants unsupervised custody every other weekend. I'm not comfortable with this at all and am even scared about it. I wont go into all the details, but there are several reasons I think could go against him in court. I've had a stable good job and live alone, whereas he goes from job to job and house to house, lives with several male roommates I do not know, and even just got arrested on drug related charges. Are there any reasons that I could insist on supervised visitation, and what are they?

Re: Preventing Visitation Rights

Is there a custody order in place that tells you to allow visitation? If not there should be.
