Legal Question in Personal Injury in Iowa

I was walking my dog and she was attacked by a larger dog that was on a retractable leash. During the attack, my finger was bit, but I do not know which dog bit me. My dog ended up with scratches. The police were called and a bite report was made. I ended up going to the ER and with insurance, my bills came to approximately $100. I would like the owner of the bigger dog to pay my medical bills. How do I go about asking for this? Send certified letter? Do I give them 30 days to pay me back and then sue? Even though I do not know which dog bit me, I feel that they should be responsible as the owner could not control her dog.

You can ask, and you can sue in small claims court as well as for personal injury. I suggest you consult a PI attorney as soon as possible.
