Legal Question in Social Security Law in Iowa

Do I Have a case

I've undergone over 15 surgeries in my lifetime - the last three being in my back. I have nerve damage (mild to moderate) down my left leg and into my left foot. I'm numb, and it causes me pain.

Any length of time sitting or standing causes me pain and I'm unable to hold a job because of that and depression.

The depression is because I'm unable to work and be productive.

I've undergone many procedures to try to eliviate the pain with no success.

I've collected unemployment within in the past few months and have been notified since I've files for Disability that I'm eligible for a 13 weeks extension. I need the money, but can't work. How long do I have to wait before money starts rolling in. I'm afraid we will lose everything since I was making very good money before my last back surgery.

Do I have a case for Disability?

Re: Do I Have a case

Hello, you may have a case for disability but the fact you are receiving unemployment insurance concerns me. To receive social security disability you must be unable to work. To receive unemployment insurance benefits you have to be ready, willing and able to work. The two types of benefits are mutually exclusive. Think about it.
